Tom Eckersley has had broad experience in the banking industry with almost 30 years in leadership roles within this industry across diverse teams. During his career in banking, Tom has also involved himself in various activities within sport, schools and community organizations serving on Boards, Councils and Committees during this time. In his various roles, Tom has worked with individuals and groups to bring about change and to achieve success in their endeavors. He has a commitment to strong leadership and coaching of people supported by systems that will enhance the daily activities of individuals to achieve the overall goals for themselves, their team and their organization. In the course of his work he has also worked closely with clients in various fields to achieve their goals through support, guidance and challenging of their approach to their business.

 

The time within the Banking Industry was spent with the Commonwealth Bank. During this time he was actively involved in co-facilitating Leadership programs in conjunction with external consultant MacDonald and Associates based on their Systems Leadership model.

He was mentor to developing and newly appointed executives within the Commonwealth Bank.

Tom also introduced and fostered the Indigenous Traineeship program within the Commonwealth Bank (with external providers, Aboriginal Employment Strategy) and was an active committee member and co-designer of the Bank’s Reconciliation Action Plan to support Indigenous opportunities both internal and external of the Commonwealth Bank. His community work involved serving on the Boards and Committees of many schools and sporting bodies as he moved with his career and has been able to bring his leadership and management skills to the benefit of these organizations.

He has served on the Boards of the West Entertainment group in Tamworth and also on the steering committee of the Ronald McDonald House Tamworth to establish a new house within the grounds of Tamworth Hospital as a great service to the surrounding Region. He later served as Chairman of the Board for the Tamworth House. Tom has now established Ecko Coaching and Training to work with individuals as a life and business coach to assist them achieve the goals they have in their lives covering all aspects of their life from Business and Career to Relationships, hobbies, personal and professional development.
