Advanced Dynamics was created in 1997, to bridge a gap between the ongoing development of leading-edge thinking about organisations and its application, which had been identified in discussions with academics and public- and private-sector practitioners.
By the end of its first year, Advanced Dynamics had established sound relationships with major businesses in both Australia and New Zealand. Where long-term collaboration was needed to support systemic change, strategic alliances were formed with clients who saw the benefits of mutually supportive learning. These provided a solid foundation for a learning system, whose dynamics helped to build the reputation of Advanced Dynamics for frank and honest advice, not being frightened to “say it like it is”. Integrity and independent advice has been the cornerstone of our business ever since.
Advanced Dynamics has continued to develop a solid reputation for systemic thinking across Australasia. We now work with a diverse range of organisations that operate in settings from Antarctica to the desert centre of Australia and continue to explore new ways to contribute to organisational and sectoral performance. We participate in the new CRC for Remote Economic Participation and maintain an active programme of intiatives to engage in collaborative learning with other organisations.
Advanced Dynamics continues to develop its business model in response to the changing environment. At its heart is our concept of work community. This drives collaborative, action-oriented behaviour while, at the same time, building an interdependent culture that reflects our business and societal aspirations. This interdependent culture extends to collaborative relationships that are developing globally.
Throughout this development, however, Advanced Dynamics has remained true to its original purpose of driving learning though the combination of practical principle-based action and reflection that informs those principles.
Although the Advanced Dynamics logo, like the organisation, has evolved with time, its fundamental symbolism has remained constant.
